What happens when you ask a beauty expert about her favourite beauty salons. You get THE best insider knowledge! So ladies, prick up your ears as Tine, editor of the Melbourne-based beauty blog Beautyholics Anonymous reveals which salons, local spots and local beauty brands she loves.

WHAT DO YOU LOOK FOR WHEN YOU VISIT A BEAUTY SALON?

Exceptional service and a good, relaxing atmosphere. Nothing like outside noise—people chatting, banging of doors, construction noise—to ruin an hour meant for pampering oneself.

WHAT ARE YOUR TOP BEAUTY SALONS IN MELBOURNE AND WHY DO YOU LOVE THEM?

For Hair salons—Oscar Oscar Hair Salon at Chadstone Shopping Centre. The head stylist, Jacky, and head colourist, Nathan, are magicians with hair. They really know their stuff; I can go in looking like something the cat dragged in, and come out looking and feeling like a million bucks. Plus the service is fantastic.

Hair and Nail Salon—Clara H at Tsumiki Designs. It's a Japanese hair salon at Prahran that not only does great things with hair and has impeccable service, their resident nail expert, Clara Hwang, is one of the best manicurists in Australia. She does amazing Japanese 3D nail art that blows my mind, every single time.

Miss Fox at Little Collins St, Melbourne. It's a gorgeous beauty salon that does beauty treatments, spa, hair and nails. Lovely atmosphere with a pretty vintage touch.
