Fashion Trends from Spain for Spring/Summer 2013 MBFW MadridFRESH FROM THE SPANISH CATWALK
Four fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2013 spotted at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid

As the sweltering temperatures start to fall in Spain, the fashion industry just warms up, as it did at this last week’s Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid. Almost edible spring hues took over the runways, along with familiar styles of seasons past. Here, four trends to build on through fall and winter as you dream about a Spanish spring and summer.

Last spring’s budding love affair with floral patterns will apparently carry on into 2013, but perhaps with a twist. At MBFWM, the flowers appeared in Guillermina Baeza’s patchworked bathing suits, trickling down DelPozo’s flowy floor-length gowns, and in 3D via Devota Lomba’s wreath-style necklaces. The general style consensus is that flowers will be in full bloom next

For spring and summer 2013, all shades of pink are fair game. From raspberry to bubblegum, coral and rose, it seems that 2012’s mint hues have found a candy-colored replacement. pink-fashion

With many of the Madrid catwalk looks swinging decidedly soft and feminine, silhouettes also swayed a touch edgy as well. Especially prominent: angular sleeves that were big, boxy and squared-off. sleeves-fashion

If the pink floral fashion was feeling too whimsical, then buttoned-up collars might suit your style. Across multiple runway shows, designers -- from Ángel Schlesser to Sita Murt -- incorporated closed-neck Peter Pan and Pointed Flat collars, creating a clean look with a heavy dose of demure. collars-fashion
